Join us for our Speaker Lunch on October 27th 2025. Each month a Club member will discuss a topic close to their heart.
In October, Club member, author and broadcaster, Derek Shelmerdine will be taking us back in time to that wonderful decade that was – the Swingin’ Sixties.
A look at how this vibrant decade was a time of fun and excitement. The music scene started out with simple songs, mostly boy meets girl, and developed throughout the decade into so many different streams. The fashions, mods and rockers, hippies, Summer of Love, pirate radio, Woodstock, it’s all there. Along with some great music, to transport us all back to – the Swingin’ Sixties.
Speaker Lunches will now cost £15. This price includes a main course, dessert and a coffee. Tickets must be booked in advance, either online or in-person with Terry at the Club.
The bar will open at 11.45am, lunch will be served from 12:00 to 13:00, followed by the talk from 13:00 to 13:30.
