The role of the Knaresborough Town Crier was revived by the Knaresborough Chamber of Trade in 1988 on a ceremonial basis. However, the need to effectively disseminate information within a community is as old as humankind. Join Mark and Andrea Hunter, the current Knaresborough Town Crier and Consort, as they explore the origins, history and role of Town Criers in general and more specifically in Knaresborough, up to and including the present day.
Tickets for Speaker Lunches cost £15. This price includes a main course, dessert and a coffee. Tickets must be booked in advance, either online or in-person with Terry at the Club.
The bar will open at 11.45am, lunch will be served from 12:00 to 13:00, followed by the talk from 13:00 to 13:30.
